THE SWEDISH SPACE DATA LAB – FOR THE GOOD OF THE PLANET

A national resource for satellite data

The Swedish Space Data Lab is a national knowledge and data hub for Swedish and international stakeholders working with earth observation data. We develop AI-applications used for making informed, sustainable and timely decisions regarding the earth’s surface, weather predictions and biodiversity both globally and locally.

Our ambition is to make space data available to everyone.

Industries and sectors

Agriculture

Satellite data can enable more efficient, profitable, and sustainable farming. The data can predict and monitor crops from preseason to harvest. It also allows for an easy overview of potential damage caused by storms or drought.

Coasts and water

Through analysis of space data it is possible to detect shoreline variations caused by climate change, erosion or dredging and to monitor water quality e.g. pollution or algae growth rate. The Swedish Space Data Lab is also a platform for mapping different marine habitats.

Environment and nature

Satellite imagery can give great insights into the health of forests and green spaces. Analysis of data can also be used to monitor biodiversity and the impact of climate change by looking at the variations in the landscape caused by e.g. drought and increased temperatures.

What we do

Accessibility

Make space data easy accessible and contribute to innovations and applications based on space data.

Lower Thresholds

Make data, processing capacity, software platforms & tools and methodology available to lower the threshold.

Systematic Development

Enable systematic development of services and applications based on space data.

New possibilities

Create new possibilities – based on a real time, true situational awareness.
